FREE ASSOCIATION BOARD SUMMIT!

You are invited to our upcoming Community Association Board Summit “CABS”. Sessions include information you need to know about association management including accounting, banking, legislative issues, disaster restoration, engineering, risk management, maintenance, and landscaping. This is a great opportunity for Association Board Members from different associations to interact with each other and share best practices.

Our program also includes two sessions to become certified to serve on your Association Boards per the Florida Statutes.

You must attend both sessions to receive your certification.

This session focuses on discussing the significant changes and challenges faced by community associations in Florida. This session aims to provide board members with insights into the evolving landscape of association management, including legislative updates, financial management, disaster restoration, risk management, and much more.  Each Subject Matter Expert will highlight “the new normal” in their industries.

 

Board Member Certification Course – Part One

Wednesday, February 5, 2025 – B Hive Event Center, 17650 S Tamiami Trail, Unit 202, Fort Myers

Thursday, February 6, 2025 – 999 Building, Mercato, Vanderbilt Beach Road, Naples

 

Condominium Associations

Starting July 1, 2024, all members of the board of directors for a condominium association are required to take a 4 hour certification course approved by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR). New directors must take the course within 90 days of election or appointment. Directors elected or appointed prior to July 1, 2024 must comply by June 30, 2025. The certification is good for 7 years.

Homeowners’ Associations

Starting July 1, 2024, all members of the board of directors for a homeowners’ association are required to take a 4 hour certification course approved by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR). New directors must take the course within 90 days of election or appointment. Directors elected or appointed prior to July 1, 2024 must comply by June 30, 2025. The certification is good for 4 years. 

Associations with fewer than 2,500 parcels: directors must also take 4 hours of continuing education annually.

Associations with 2,500 or more parcels: directors must also take 8 hours of continuing education annually.

 

Board Member Certification Course – Part Two

This session completes the certification requirements for both condominium and homeowners’ associations. Certificates of completion will be provided to those who attend both sessions.

Back by popular demand! Participate in this unique opportunity to learn the key facts and to discuss issues specific to your association in Round Table discussions. Each Round Table session will be led by a professional from the fields of technology, accounting, law, banking, insurance, painting, asset maintenance and sensible landscaping. This is a fast-paced session that you simply don’t want to miss.

Doors open at 8:30am. Each session will begin at 9:00am and end promptly at 12:00pm. Light refreshments will be served.
